and when she speaks

Dinner @ Quartino with my Medicine team: Dr Manning, Ami, Safdar and the two med students; Janelle and Jessica.
Safdar was so cheeky. I had an extra clinic scheduled to which I only found out the day before from my email; so I came back pretty late- I pretty much only had 20 minutes to clean up before dinner... And Safdar, only waited 3 minutes downstairs- but he went on telling everyone that it was a HALF an HOUR. and to rub it in even more, he sms-ed me THREE TIMES in that 3 minutes. It sure didn't amuse me. 1st sms went : 'Im waiting'. 2nd one : '.....' and THIRD ONE 'it's been 3 minutes' .... and at that point, I pretty much had hot air coming out of my ears already *laughs* - he really digs riling us, for sure *shakes head*
It was also revealed that night that I was only 21. And my med students are both older than I am; both aged 25 -.-' AMI was so proud of herself; she exclaimed- cos she managed to keep that secret for the entire month! LOL.. must have been pretty hard for her *hehe* - although she added quietly that she did expose to a few -*few* she emphasised- a few seniors. *laughs*
I guess I should be more relaxed now... I mean, after all, I'm already a resident- already a physician. No more a medical student needing to prove that age is no barrier; that age should not be used to judge preconceivably against you- if at all. Then again, I also don't want people treating me like 'the baby' - you know what I mean... :) Dr Manning is a pretty cool attending; he replied 'What gives me or them the right to judge you?' :) he's got a nice heart, doesn't he? :) I've had an amazing team :) Ami agrees. And this point, she made so clearly last night at the club Kerryman's- she hugged me- and repeatedly said 'I MISS OUR team! I LOVE our team!' *laughs*
I loved our team too :) We had a great run of a month! I gave Ami a big big squishy hug last night :)
Last night, there were cheap drinks at Kerrymans' - an email was sent out to all residents and so, I thought- why not?
I didn't want to go alone. Sai was semi-lazy to go when I asked her at clinics yesterday.
Carlos agreed to come out when I mass-paged a couple of people. Kenny called me up to make sure I was certainly going- he held me up to it since I was the one who initiated the massive informational page ;) ---Met up at the train station with Carlos; and ended up getting lost - to which I didn't realise; intentional on his part *rolls eyes* He said 'It's fun getting lost and walking a bit more"
Sure.... when it's NOT raining!
Anyway, he doesn't like dancing *I felt so bad dragging him out*... But to be perfectly honest; I don't much fancy the clubbing scene either. Half a drink; and some dancing... maybe once in awhile; some uninhibited dancing with great friends - that's fine by me.
But not every other night or every weekend for that matter.
I gave Carlos half my drink-
But I found out a trick Ami told me Justin does *he's also another Chinese in the hosp* :)
Somehow, the Chinese is such a minority here- we really do stick out. Even Kenny told me- at the club last night; I stood out; simply because they were so few fair-skin Asians- and he even pointed us all out- and there were like 3 -4 of us ...
Oh back to that trick- Justin pops Pepcid & Tums half an hour before he goes out and it works. So Im going to have to do that. *laughs* it's funny how he also has that Asian Chinese alcohol dehydrogenase insufficiency ;)Anyway, Kenny was nice enough to drive me home :)
Back to how I'd like to spend my free time:-- a simple dinner with a small close group of friends- and enjoying time spent together. Or brunch with pancakes/waffles/bagels/croissants =) - Or a picnic by the park *it's my first love; just lying on a blanket surrounded by people you cherish out in the open* :) -Or a night out under the starry sky- which my housemates and I do in Karl's balcony :) with rocking chairs ;)
-Or even a trip to the museum (not the boring dull ones!), an art exhibition (modern art), a dance performance, a food festival!
-A sleepover with cherished ones; watching a movie; under the warm duvet-with some popcorn and nachos with salsa :)
Yup...*hehe* the Queen of tong yuen.
We have our Merdeka dinner :) Guess what I'm making?
