and when she speaks

I've learned that you should never put off saying, "I love you", in any relationship as long as you sincerely mean it. Otherwise, you may spend the rest of your life regretting itI've learned that home is the place where we grumble the most and are loved the bestI've learned that loaning money to friends and relatives causes them to get amnesiaI've learned that saying "hi" to somebody today can result in a new friend tomorrowI've learned that an act of love, no matter how great or small, is always appreciatedI've learned that everybody wants to be special to someoneI've learned that life is both simple and complicated at the same time. The trick is finding the simple truths that are contained in the complicated confusionI've learned that the easiest way to find happiness is to quit complainingI've learned that you shouldnt eat in a restaurant where the cook is skinnyI've learned that just because someone doesnt love you the way you want them to doesnt mean they dont love you with all they haveI've learned that although nobody admits to liking to have their picture taken, everyone secretly doesI've learned that all the advice in the world doesnt help some situations. There are many things we have to figure out on our ownI've learned that men would rather be lost for hours than stop and ask for directionsI've learned that under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and lovedI've learned that older people in my family have awelath of knowledge to share if I just ask and listenI've learned that I feel better about myself when I make others feel better about themselvesI've learned that a kindness done is never lost. It may take a while, but like a suitcase on a luggage carousel, it will return again

Dementia. It drains emotionally, physically and mentally. Not only the patient suffers, but so does the whole family- the caregivers...
Shocked, surprised... 'I'm still alive. I didn't die last night.'It pulls my heart strings when 90 year old grandpa says things like that.
And it makes you want to make the most of their time left on earth. ---Anyway, I'm at Emerge right now. I love it. Shift work - sometimes from 2pm to 10pm and lectures and grand rounds...It's back to working with non-psychiatric people now. And I love the satisfaction of taking care of them... especially when you send them home and they hold your hands tight and really appreciate all that you've done... I LOVE it :)

All men dream but not equally.
Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity;
but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes to make it possible.
