A very short stay in Perth; to fulfil some banking related to-dos.

I'm so tired; but that's how I am usually after travelling on airplanes- I need a day or two to re-adjust and re-energise.

I didn't get to meet most of the close old friends I so wanted to despite emailing some of them earlier to let them know I was coming... I only got to meet one friend... somehow the initial plan of staying longer didn't work out; it was very last-minute; we only decided a couple of days beforehand and finalised it pretty much 2 days before our flight. I hope they understand, I would have dearly loved to have seen some of them and catch up!

5 years it's been since I last stepped foot in Perth.
Methodist Ladies' College in Claremont. Hungry Jacks. Cicerello's in Freo. Gelare ice-cream in Northbridge. the Asian love for bubble tea. King's Park.

I had a tonne of fun with a dear old friend from IMU who was there; who took the time and effort to show me around and help us out with my mum's obscene amount of grocery bags *winks* *laughs*

Promised that dear friend I wouldn't forget the days; which were wonderful :)

We crammed in so many visits on my first day there! :)

Fremantle Prison
Walked through the Freo markets in the windy breeze
Shared Fish and Chips at the popular Cicerello's in Freo
The poor driver got fined $30 *laughs*
Drove back to the city to help mum out who went semi-ballistic with grocery shopping in Woolworths; thank god we had a guy with us to help us out with all the carrying *t'was much appreciated* - Mum couldn't be more thick-skinned and said aloud 'I'm taking full advantage' *laughs* He was super sporting ;)
Showed me Perth's 'Eye' their very own Ferris Wheel; the Bell Tower; passed by The Lucky Shag Bar ;)
Went for dinner in Bedford in a filled Italian restaurant where we had some pasta and pizza

I couldn't recognise the car TWICE; much to my embarassment. The first time I did that; it wasn't so noticeable... but the second time; I swear I was certain I got it right; I kept on thinking 'Green car Green car' - and that illusion was so stuck in my head.

So, we were both walking back to the parking alley and I walked straight up to the left front seat of the green car I thought was his... and was waiting for the door to open. Waited for awhile; til I realised something was amiss and looked up; and found him staring back, laughing at me; about 3 cars ahead.

*humiliation* filled me up. Super malu... Obviously; I went to the wrong car -.-'

Anyway; fast forward to my last night in Perth; we headed to King's Park; which had the most beautiful scenery of the entire Perth City.It was breathtaking. If I lived in Perth; that would have been my escape and reflective time getaway.

We plonked our butts on the green green grass and took the gorgeous scenery in. The fresh dewy air. The soft breeze beside us. The view of Perth city at night with all its glorious lights just in front and below our mesmerised eyes.

Soon; we found ourselves slipping down the green grass slope; and decided to move to a flatter area. We improvised and used his car's sunscreen protector shield to shield our butts from the wet grass below us and comfortably plonk our bums on that piece of dry sheet.

Lied down and did some 'cloud-gazing' as we call it. Because it turned out to be a starless night ;)

I can tick cloud-gazing & lying on green grass with a friend off my list now. Well, I have this imaginary list of things I'd like to do ;)

We stayed up there pretty much just relaxing and enjoying the night. With good company between the two of us; and the occassional tourists behind us snapping photos and the teenagers talking out loud. And our cold coffee ;) The solitude took a halt when the clouds above us started to drizzle some baby rain; so we retired to the car; and spend the remaining time just catching up 'on two years of missing out' :)

And here I am; back home today. The short stay in Perth were pretty exciting. I'm glad I caught up with my old friend; it's been 2.5 years now. All thanks to a bank account :p

4 more weeks before I fly back for my convocation ceremony in Canada; and meet up with the kooks =)

I grabbed hold of my sister's Chicken Soup book for the Sister's soul just a few hours back and glanced through it.

It's been so many years since I've touched the Chicken Soup series; and I remember how I used them as a teenager to learn about life's lessons; moral values and empathy...

A sister helps one remain half child; half woman.

YEP. My innermost child comes out to play when I'm with my 3 sisters. IN fact, I'm the biggest kid at home ;)

It is the friends that you can call at 4am that matter. And for me, those friends are in the form of my sisters :) I can confirm this with Syeyi forming my company when I was sleepless one night in Canada at 3am :)

No matter the distance between us- physical or emotional- there will always be the one (3 ones rather, in my case) in the world who knew me in my innocence, and knows the heart of me in a way that no other can. And should I ever know real trouble in my life, she will suddenly appear beside me, to hold my hand in hers.

For there is no friend like a sister
In calm or stormy weather
To cheer one on the tedious way
To fetch one if one goes astray
To lift one if one totters down
To strengthen whilst one stands.
