I was feeling greedy, and seeing the bag overpouring with fortune cookies, I couldn't help myself. So I walked gently into the MICU conference room, and grabbed a few of the little packets of fortune cookies. Ripped open one excitedly and popped the giant piece into my mouth.Walked back out the door, where my ID team was, and my new boss looked at me and said 'You'll be evaluated by Dr *******'. With my mouth half stuffed with the cookie piece, I looked at him and replied 'Ok'. Then he said one more statement before walking away."You did a very good job. You're a very good resident."I was more focused in the process of chewing my fortune cookie, when it sunk; and my smile came delayed. He waited long enough to see my big smile; then walked away as I said 'Thank you' :)I was on cloud nine =)I came home, looked at my evaluation; and it was superior :) I'm soooo happy!!! =) Ecstatic. Today was day # 1 of my research rotation but I was given a long weekend because my research supervisor is busy at the moment. Which I don't mind- since I need the break after being on ID ;) Brunch at Hot Chocolate. Then, off to shop along the boutiques on Damen Avenue. Tried on a ghastly amount of clothes. Splurged *oops* it's for longterm investment ;). Then, off to Wicker Park's family park where we lied down on the green grass, under the sunny sky, and chatted away. And laughed. And shared stories and gossip ;) Then, came home for a few minutes- before I got called up for frozen yoghurt! *yay* Who turns down frozen yoghurt?! ;) Then, off to a great spot by Millenium Park near the fountain. Then, off to Grant Park to lie by the grass in the dimly lit evening sky til dark.Headed back to my apartment, where they were throwing a BBQ! So I went to eat to my heart's contentment :) :) *Now I need to burn off all the fats* ;)

When I was walking with Teng and Desmond the other day, waiting for our turn at Yolk, this guy walked past, and he shouted from behind 'Wow, how much is that woman?' and he shouted once more to us 'How much is she?' And we all laughed. Teng asked me, 'How come I have never gotten such a response?'Beats me. It was pretty hilarious...Today, I was really sleepy cos Desmond left at 6am, back to NYC... I got onto the train to get to work this morning, and somehow must have closed my eyes. But when I opened my eyes, at one of the early stops, this dude was staring right at me from behind the window outside the train. And he was literally staring for a few seconds at me. So I glared at him angrily, and pulled out my pager (I always use my pager to look serious/important)- *lol* Then he walked into the train, plonks himself right in front of me, and said 'WOW' and then, continued staring for a few more uneasy seconds. And I just pretended and continued looking at my pager and pressing its buttons... Haven't they heard of being subtle? I know they might think its flattering, but staring openly for more than a few seconds makes me extremely uncomfortable. I don't know if I'd welcome it all that much. Thank god for the pager :) On another note, my buddy Desmond went back today. It was a fun weekend :) And guys- he's not my boyfriend!
