Simon and I click pretty well. I told him I'll be leaving him for 7 days in the next 2 weeks for interviews. He said 'I'll be missing you. And I'll have no company.'
I said 'You can always say you've got migraine for those days ;P' He laughed, knowing full well what I meant ;)
I said 'Don't worry, when I get back from Boston, I'll be legal. Then, I'll buy you your all-time favourite :- beer'
We're all going ice-skating tomorrow! =)
My patient today said to me:
"You've got an internal karma. No, listen to me.
I'm being very serious here. I always believe you should have a heart when you're doing this. Or else, you should just quit.
And I think your name should have been Precious Flower."
And to that, I laughed. And smiled happily.
I touched his hands and patted his shoulder a couple of times. And flashed him one of my sweetest smiles...
Despite his smile, I can tell, deep inside he's suffering silently.
He's weak. All he does is lie there day and night. And wait for the nurses to come and clean him up... He's lost control of his bowels... And he feels useless.
I can see it in his eyes, that sometimes, he does wonder what's the point in holding on. In going on.
But nevertheless, I know, he's not the kind who will give up. He'll go on for his loved ones. And he'll find strength and reason to do that and continue fighting.
I love my patients.
I was telling Simon that on those days where I feel my arse is damn lazy and I am so sluggish in getting my work done, the moment I pop in to see my patients, I feel rejuvenated. re-energized. and in love again with what I do.
I love my patients.

He's so sick. He can barely move on the bed. His legs are both massively swollen...But he wouldn't let me go without taking his chocolates...I laughed. 'So you're not taking NO for an answer, are you, Mr...?' cheekily. He laughed breathlessly... and said 'Take them. You cannot leave until you take them!' adamantly.I gleefully dug my hand into that tiny lil bag of happiness... oozing with baby chocolates =) I even took some back for my own colleagues ;)I had TONG YUEN yesterday! =)I just booked my flight to Chicago. I'll be there for 5 glorious days.Saturday morning to Thursday evening. 2 hospital interviews... both half an hour away from the city downtown :)I came back from work today at 9pm.*Sigh*Tomorrow, it's going to be worse. I'm starting rounds only at 7ish pm. That means, I should expect to be home after 10pm, no doubt... *double sigh.double groan* -.-'Simon says sadly 'No more happy hour. No more cheap beer and mojitos in Williamsburg' because all the cheap stuff is BEFORE 8pm. LoL...I love my gang... Only no more coming back by 5ish.Back to reality. Back to the life of a future doctor.I'm damn slack................ *argh*Simon was reading Cosmopolitan because we were all so bored, waiting for our senior doctor to come to start rounds on patients... and I peeked over at Simon and he was reading the Sex Column. Surprise Surprise. Then, I asked him to share anything exciting and new... His reply was 'I know all of this already. Nothing new' *rolls my eyes* :pThen, I took over the magazine... and I read something that caught my fancy. Here's what I'd like to wake up to:1) Getting all cuddly with that certain someone. getting showered with sweet baby kisses would just add to feeling all nice and warm and happy.2) Having someone cook you a nice yummy breakfast: toasted croissants with jam, eggs and sausages with freshly squeezed orange juice with pulp and a side dish of fresh fruits :)!!! OH MY GOD!!!My housemate Nick just gave me a Christmas and a 21st birthday gift all at once :)He gave me a whole box of handmade goodies: Milk Chocolate with Rice Krispies, White Chocolate with raisins, Chocolate coated coconut strips and chocolate chips =)He's so sweeeeeeeeeeeeettttttttttttttt!!! I gave him a squishy squishy hug =)

I had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend in Syracuse - New York Upstate approx 5 hours away from NYC =)
We drove there- but only after getting our roast duck and roast pork instead of roast turkey for our Thanksgiving dinner ;)
The cabin was gorgeous, situated by the lake... with a full breathtaking view of the lake in our living room. So nice just to stand by the window (or sit on the couch) just lazing around, enjoying the scenery...
but most of the time we spent in the other room, by the kitchen- playing cards, laughing at each other especially about boys/girls/crushes and relationships ;)
We ate :) unhealthy stuff la..since I was constipated my whole trip there although you didn't need to know that :p
We made most of our own meals, which was great fun ;) We had blueberry waffles for breakie with New York Upstate maple syrup, we heated roti prata with our own chicken curry (Japanese-style :p)... we have yet to do our BBq marshmallows dipped in baileys and our Wododchuck cidar and the TONG YUEN! =)
Took a drive to Cornell in Ithaca.
Played in the snow yesterday; made snow angel (where you plop into the snow and flutter your arms and legs in the snow like Bridget Jones did in the sand ;)) and did silly jumping shots :)
Then watched Four Christmases. I wanted to watch Twilight badly actually :p But one of us specifically said NO twilight sadly ;(
Played Chor Tai DI. Played TABOO.
Watched so many movies!
Sat on the swing by the lake in the wee morning...
Got our car stuck in mud, and then had a 4WD rescue help by the neighbour who so happened passed by the area that very night we arrived. So we bought them wine ;)
Took photos today before we left :)
I loved my 4 days there, together with the gang. Sweet, wonderful moments...
Especially the cheeky teasing and embarrassing sharing of love experiences -.-' *hahaha* and the trying not to fall asleep whilst watching our DVDs... and helping to keep the driver awake during our long drive journeys ! ;)
