and when she speaks

Two nights ago, in the midst of studying, my head was getting heavy, so I retired to the couch in our TV room & informed Syeyi who was studying beside me that I was going to take a short short nap.An hour passed by, I remember sleeping on the couch with the lights on, when suddenly I felt a shake on my body...The shake came again. This time, my name was echo-ing in the background... 'Sue...Sue...' in a soft, low Hakka tone.I opened my eyes, dazed. It was dearest daddy asking me to go back to bed upstairs. I said 'mmm...hmm..' and konked back again. Til I awoke awhile later to find it's 2.30am and decided I would call it a break and sleep. Finished my 3 assignments the whole of yesterday. And then, crammed at night. I was getting worried I would't be able to finish half my thick book... I read one whole thick book and another smaller Geriatric book and completed my 3 assignments -all in just 2-3 days! Now that the exam is over and I can breathe a sigh of relief, I'm pretty proud of myself :) I shouldn't really be saying this; cos' cramming is not advisable... but, I think my immediate recall is pretty impressive :)This morning I woke up late! Didn't hear my alarm twice!! Jumped out and immediately readied myself before leaving to the hospital.Entered the conference room in UMMC's Geriatric Ward 13 and found Prof Poi still not there yet, so I took the opportunity to breeze through my thick fat book quickly! He jokingly asked me if I had checked my email - cheekily asking me if I had been in contact with my Canadian classmates who had sat for the exam just a few hours earlier in Halifax... I scrunched up my eyebrows and laughed cheekily =)Then, he said if he doesn't courier the paper immediately, 'Dr Gordon might F me' ... And to that, I laughed out loud. Hearing Prof Poi say 'F' word brought a huge smile to my face. I had never seen this side of him :)Dr Soraya said to me the first thing she saw me 'So mean lah, getting you in here for an exam on a Saturday morning!' and smiled :) Then, she exclaimed 'You look like you didn't get any sleep last night' which was true -.-' LoL!I completed the exam; Dr Soraya popped in a couple of times to check how I was doing which was really sweet of her :)Prof Poi came in and asked 'Did you cheat?' with a glint of mischief in his eye. And I laughed 'You can trust me Prof Poi' with a huge, big smile :)He then proceeded to go through my answers and he seemed really happy with all he read *beams* Of course, he corrected a few things and taught me a few extra things, and joked it was now too late to change my answers ;) At one question which I admitted I didn't know the answer which only carried 4 marks out of 100, he laughed and said 'That's ok, we didn't teach you this either' and then, he remarked 'GUESS-ology!' GUESSOLOGY? I was stunned for a split second, and couldn't help but chuckle at that term I've never heard coined before!Oh! Prof Poi and his British sense of humor :)He teased me half way through and said 'You wrote so little' at my 8 pages of answers... and then, I sarcastically remarked 'Aiyor, Prof POi!' And then, he teasingly exposed that the students there write one sentence on a page and leave the rest empty... ;) I thanked him graciously for my wonderful 3 week stint and promised to keep in touch with him.In the midst of our conversations, he implied at a louder tone 'I KNOW you've already made up your mind to be a nephrologist'.... On the inside, I was glowing happily :)Honestly, I told him this, I haven't yet made up my mind. I've really enjoyed all the electives I've done. I now have a few considerations... And we'll see in the near future =) when my mind is made up :)After the exam, I made phone calls to everyone! :) Now, I'm free! *hehe*Called up my potential dance partner :) (cannot SAY NO! :p) & my loud girlfriend here :) And met up with Eu Wen and had dim sum; and we got lost on the way back to my house twice! *laughs* I've found someone as bad as me when it comes to direction sense :pExcuse given; he rarely drives around that area..... LoL! That's justifiable la ;)

So last night; very very late last night; Syeyi and I were both up studying. In the dining area. With our laptops switched on... And it so happened; she had her guitar and I brilliantly came up with a very distracting idea in mind for a break from our mugging :)Ta-da! U-Cam (webcam) and a guitar and our voices in hand; and we were ready to belt out our singing voices =)We sang and video-taped ourselves and sang again from 2am til the wee hours of 3 ish am. Our poor kakak had to get her shut eye with our music-making close by *hehehe-yes very inconsiderate of us* but she's pretty forgiving ;)I'm still deciding whether or not to blogpost the videos ;) A bit embarassing lah... Anyway, fast forward; went off to IMU today to give that little informal impromptu talk to the juniors who were interested in knowing about 'studying for USMLE and transferring to US/Canada'. Turnout was much much more than expected. The entire room was squished and we had no place left to fill up chairs. They initially told me 15; but more than 25 turned up to hear what I had to say.Spoke to them and answered their every question and uncertainties for about 45 minutes before having to rush off to UMMC. Sze-Sze was with me; and I introduced her to everyone (from Sem 3,4,5) =)Prof Poi told me this morning urgently that I'd have to sit for my geriatrics exam this Saturday morning *cries* I'm not ready........!Cramming session again tonight and tomorrow night. I foresee two sleepless nights in tow -.-'Dropped by UMMC and it was so so very nice and generous of Prof Poi and Dr Soraya to give me that book that Prof Poi helped co-write! Dr Soraya wouldn't accept my money and insisted it was a gift from them all. I tried to find a pocket in her labcoat in which I could stuff in my roll of cash but she wouldn't take it. I thanked her twice and left with a big smile on my face =) Ok- that's enough for tonight. back to highlighting that yellow thick book! :('

Yesterday we all woke up late. I was supposed to follow Sze-Sze to IMU but I couldn't wake up ;)Syu-Syu and I cooked lunch:- tom yam noodles filled with whatever we could dig up from the fridge; mumbo jumbo concoction of crabmeat; sausages; red peppers; already chopped-up onions; eggs =) My belly swelled up to that of a pregnant lady because Syeyi and I had been munching on chocolate bars; muruku; lotus wife cake and jelly beans... Bugger really the atrocious amount of junk we have our hands on at home -.-' I know. I know. It's my mouth! Then, Syeyi was strumming and singing on her acoustic guitar whilst I was surfing the Net on her laptop (mine broke down as usual ;P) and then, I joined in the music-making.This morning, I dropped by IMU.Bumped into all the people I so wanted to meet!Chatted with May Kuan; Charmaine; Aznah; Jascinta; my old tutor Dr Galy Muhamadou; Henry; also bumped into the current SRC President and Vice Pres who asked me to give a talk to the juniors; which I happily obliged =)Tomorrow I'll be heading over to IMU again to talk to the juniors. And they've warned me they're going to be bombarding me with lots of questions! Headed over to One Utama with mum and the three monkeys; we went to have lunch at Itallianies =) and then, dessert at WaffleWorld =) Then, I came home to find an urgent email from my Proffesor regarding my exam *stressed out now*I have to phone him back early tomorrow morning!Have to jump-start my engine to study mode and work hard tonight -.-'xoxoxo

Mummy loves public holidays, because that means an added family day to the weekend :)We woke up bright and early this morning despite me having again yet another night of barely 6 hours of sleep -.-'It's starting to show on my skin... Went off to have dim sum brunch. And then, off to Ikano to check out Sze-Sze's new car... Unfortunately; parking was a problem, so we four were dropped off. When I walk with my three sisters, I'd have to say we all look darn good lah LoL ;) But people would never realize we four are sisters; cos we're all of the same height. I don't feel like the tai ka che (big sister) and I don't think it's that obvious unless you stare at us upclose and see that I look the oldest... *laughs* That's why I dress so 'old-ish' like. The only way you'd know I'm the eldest is when I fork out to pay for the bill. Luckily, Sze-Sze has started taking over paying for our dining expenditures ;) So we went to do our groceries; Sze-Sze and Syu-Syu went off to get our pet porcupine's food;fresh live worms from the pet store; whilst me and Sye went todo our ingredients shopping at Cold Storage for our pizza-making tonight :)Then, we went for some sweets A&W rootbeer ice-cream shake and some curly fries :) and IKEA's ice-cream :)Then off to Suzuki's showroom nearby where mummy test-drove the car for Sze-Sze :) *yay* Finally, another car to the family. Finally, a smaller car where I can maneuvre -.-'Mum's Estima and Dad's Merz are two cars I'd rather not practise on for my driving on the infamous KL roads... Syeyi and I cannot wait. We're going to go driving everyday now *hehe*Back home. Our two pizzas were a hit. Even our cousins agree :)We sprinkled crabmeat slices with chicken sausages on the first pizza and for the second, it was spicy tuna. Both had lots and lots of cheese; thanks to greedy baby who wouldn't stop grating and sprinkling mozarella and parmesan -.- ;)Will be following Sze-Sze to IMU tomorrow. I really should get back to some studying for that exam of mine.*oh brother*!!
