We learn from every experience, every conversation and everyone we meet.

Throw off the bowlines.
Sail away.
Catch the winds in your sail.
Explore. Dream. Discover.

It is only in going out there and exploring- experiencing-embracing the unknown, it is when you find out what your heart needs and wants.

I'm a Sagittarius baby ;) I was telling a friend of mine how back in secondary school, before any exam, I'd look out for my lucky color on the horoscope page in TheStar newspaper- and wear that lucky color ;)

Needless to say, that friend laughed. But you know, there's no harm, as long as you don't overly throw your faith into these beliefs- it works on those who just need a lil good luck trinket around them for that comforting feeling of reassurance. I think it's a pretty harmless placebo effect which does wonders sometimes for the nerves.

Although now- I don't do that anymore ;)

I looked up on Sagittarius traits:- =)

Optimistic and freedom-loving
Jovial and good-humored
Honest and straightforward
Intellectual and philosophical

Sagittarians have a positive outlook on life, are full of enterprise, energy, versatility, adventurousness and eagerness to extend experience beyond the physically familiar.

They enjoy travelling and exploration, the more so because their minds are constantly open to new dimensions of thought. They are basically ambitious and optimistic, and continue to be so even when their hopes are dashed. Their strongly idealistic natures can also suffer many disappointments without being affected.

They are honorable, honest, trustworthy, truthful, generous and sincere, with a passion for justice. They are usually on the side of the underdog in society they will fight for any cause they believe to be just, and are prepared to be rebellious. They balance loyalty with independence.

Sagittarians are ardent, sincere and straightforward in love, normally conventional and in control of their sexual natures.

"A gentleman never backs out on his word"

We watched Chasing Liberty last night and I loved the European guy with amazingly boyish good looks and mesmerizing eyes. Needless to say, being the main character, he had a heart made of gold as well and was as gentleman as he could be. *swoon* ;) Nicki answered 'erm..ok la' when I asked her if he was cute. LoL.

And I always wonder why they never seem to think I've got good taste in guys -.-'

We went to Woodbury today and the only thing I bought was daddy's birthday gift - sadly.
I had raised the expectations of getting a handbag each for mum and my three younger sisters- but the HUGE crowd (made up mainly of Asians from Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong) and the short shopping time we had; we hardly explored and got anything. In fact, Desmond and I didn't get anything for ourselves, sadly.

Most of the ones I wanted were out of my budget. Prices were slashed from $2000 plus to $1000. Obviously I wanted a few things I saw. Now, I can hardly wait to start earning in US$ so I can have a much less guilt-ridden spending power ;) Daddy's forking for 2 more monkeys' medical education, after me... so you know how big a hole that is going to burn in his wallet.

Then, we went off to the market to get a cheesecake for Desmond. He's turning 21 tonight. I dragged him to get some alcohol as 'buah tangan' for the family. And to also proudly show my ID now that I'm 21 and LEGAL ;) *kidding la, as if I haven't done that before -.-* In the end, we chose Bacardi Mojito. It's damn strong la...  *ugh* -.-

The entire family had a nice Italian Dinner.
And raspberry cheesecake for dessert. And mojitos for supper at home.

Tomorrow we're heading home ie back to NYC- no more New Jersey, no more home-cooked steamboat. breakfast being served on the table. car trips daily.

It's so different when you have aunties and uncles from Malaysia over here and taking care of you. It's so nice to have everything taken care of. And being pampered. Not needing to look after any major things...

How things change when you start to take responsibility and live away from home.

I was telling Desmond today in the car at the backseat, how he's the only guy whom I feel comfortable putting my head on his shoulders. The other one was James on the plane from Canada to Hong Kong during my 20th birthday - we sat next to each other for that 20 hours and became travel buddies and shoulder supporters throughout that painful, butt-numbing flight. My birthday gift from him was a cheeky kiss on my left cheek whilst he asked me to close my eyes -.-

The innocent mischievous fun I got up to when I was younger *oh brother!*
How time flies. I'm 21 now. And officially, a doctor in 5 months' time when -you can call me Dr Lai ;)

Happy 21st Birthday Des.

We went to Princeton today. Uncle loves photography- unfortunately, no one in the family is interested in being his model for snapshots ;)

So- me *cough cough* (who likes being snapped :p) being the nice guest (yeah right! :p) went happily to be his model and happily indulged both our pastimes ;)

Princeton was gorgeous, though it would have been more beautiful with the picturesque colorful autumn leaves. We went into the Museum and walked around and went into the chapel where the students were practicing for the orchestra tomorrow.

I had fun with Des's make up box, and made a mess on my face -.- Then, the master came and worked magic on my face and we then, well, I FORCED him la and we had fun snapping pictures of ourselves =) with my fully made-up face! =) I loved how my face looked afterwards.

We gym-ed a bit.
And guess who finished all the bubur cha-cha? =) *mmmmmmm....*

Auntie this morning asked me if I had anything to do in NYC? Then, she said 'stay here longer la..!'

I couldn't be happier =) It feels so nice to be in a 'home' where you can feel the family love all over. =)
