I've met up with most of the Cahayians before most take off for Aussie next week. Mun Hoong. Eugene. Evan. Andrea. Francis. William. Everyone is literally all over the world. It's so hard having that yearly reunion we used to have when we were still students. Most will be in the workforce this year, if they weren't already...Even our conversations have mostly been about work, time, family, respective partners... it's aged. We were friends since Form 1, and some of 'em have been with me since we were in Pre-1. That takes us back to a history of 17 years. 17 freakin' years. How we've all grown and found our own niches. It's scary how fast time flies. I rememver distinctly this conversation we were having the first day I came back with Andrea and Evan; 'time really flies' 'don't want to start work soon' 'trying to spend more time with our aging parents'........ Priorities around family always comes first for me. I didn't realise how much daddy wants me home til this morning. I've onlybeen home for about a week and a half. But outings with friends have so far only taken 1-2 nights out of the total. And even then, he never once complained to me or held me back... but mum asked me why daddy all of a sudden mentioned his kids are growing up fast and that parents do everything for them; and how kids don't spend as much time with parents as the parents would like...That's when it hit me. The conversation I had with him; last night about asking his permission to go out with a group of friends for dinner... I felt bad. I felt I was not spending enough time with him as much as he wanted... Guilt sank in, cos' I know how much daddy loves me. And how I've been the only one away from home for so long.He's always said for my future, it'll be best if I stay overseas and carve my niche there and jump at the abundant opportunities available. To fulfil my potential to be the very best I can be. He knows how dream-driven I am. He inspired that in me. He showed me how with hard work and some luck along the way, there are no boundaries to achieving what your heart desires.He told me not to come back. But I know, once all the three little monkeys leave for overseas; they'll be alone. Just the two of them. And I think with a household of 4 noisy children (me especially being the loudmouth blaring through the bungalow every few moments) they won't be used to the silence once they all grow up and take off...I think it'll only be right if I do my duty of staying with them. And taking care of them. One should at least remain home. Hopefully, they'll agree to travelling to see us overseas and staying with us for a bit! Mum says she'll be more than happy with the 4 monkeys away and then, she and dad can travel the world :) that'll be nice for the two of them. My dearest family is the world to me. I love you guys.

Mummy laughed this morning when I went on with my verbal diarrhea as usual since coming home...She calls it my 'chicken backside mouth'. Why that term? Don't ask me, I seriously have no clue.I entered her room this morning and started talking about baby (Syu-Syu), the breakfast of durian and dark chocolate cake I had, Eugene & MH & Evan meet-up possibly tonight.... in a span of 5 minutes.And then I came out from the toilet still yet talking; saying Sze-Sze didn't let me know I had chocolate around my mouth... Mum shook her head and laughed saying 'Early in the morning, you are still so noisy!' *laughs* I asked them in the car if I talked a lot. Sze-Sze said she's always with me, so she's pretty used to it -.-'Mummy says thank god only I'm like that. Only one ear of hers is affected. If the other was like that too, *cham lor, both her ears!* ;) I told mummy and daddy, this is one part of me I definitely cannot change. I LOVE talking. That's why I'm also in medicine; so I can yak to my patients =) I don't want to change the talking part either. I told them... Mum says 'I've given up for that looooong ago!' *this mother of mine -.-'*Mum was always called to my primary school cos' the class teachers would always complain that I was too talkative or too noisy ;) My trademark chatterbox mouth lah =) Max warned my parents might decide to duct-tape my mouth cos' I'm so darn noisy! -.-Yiyi and her beauty maintenance trip.The guys' meet up soon,hopefully.IMU friends.AMSA pal. Ballet friends.Cameron trip. WORK next week.BJ visit.

A dearest friend in Canada taught me a great lesson in generosity and sacrifice.He has one of the biggest hearts and most giving nature amongst everyone whom I've crossed path with in my life and I admire him for that- for being so generous; so free with compassion and love.My dad; very very generous and always so giving; has always repeated this to us; "Give, but do not expect anything in return"He's always reminding us to help others in need; not necessarily going out of our way to help them; but if we can, why not?

It's been such a PACKED 3 days since coming home.
First day: dearest daddy's birthday celebration with all the aunties over for lunch
Sze-Sze's chocolate chip & orange lemon cupcakes made with alphabets saying happy Birthday daddy =) was a huge hit with the guests. Lots of food til' all the aunties were glad it's a yearly occassion ;) Met up with Evan and Andrea in what seemed like ages! We were all lamenting how old we've become now that we're all entering the workforce this year ;)Second day: Mum's cousins. Hau Jia; a friend from New York who was in KL that day dropped by; he was definitely fed well ;)A conversation which we (me, my second sister Sze-Sze and Hau Jia) had:-SzeSze: So do you know how to play chor tai di?Hau Jia: YeahSze-Sze: (frankly and bluntly) : So did you bring money?Hau Jia: (I laughed out loud at Sze-Sze's frank candidness): *pause* Yes...... and I also have my credit card.We all laughed at this point.I stepped in and said 'My sister is very direct and straight forward' LOL ...and I continued (pointing to Hau Jia): He's a sugar daddy to the ladies in New York, so you better take advantage of him whilst he's still here.Sze-Sze: Oh really... *and laughed some more*Hau Jia: 'Yeah, and I can recruit you'...at this point, I intercepted and jokingly said NO ;)This morning, my dearest childhood friend Sing Wei (whom I've known since pampers-hood :p) came with Auntie Fei Tze. I thought I'd have missed seeing him, with him taking off to Perth before I arrived home, so it was a wonderful surprise =) Hey Sing Wei, if you're reading this, I'm so glad we got to meet up before you fly off tomorrow morning! =) We'll see who comes with a partner during our next meet-up next CNY! ;)He said this to me twice before he left;
'I have a strong feeling the next time we meet, you'll be with a guy' -.-'
We had such a great time jamming in our music room with Sing Wei and Syeyi doing their thing on the music instruments while Sze-Sze and I belted our vocals =) The uncles and aunties were enjoying our music making in the open dining hall next door ;)
Can't wait to load all the wicked photos we took with our hot sunnies ;) Red nails. Pizza night. Sleeping in sleeping bags in our TV room. Watching an old rerun of Chinese vampire movie. Laughing at Donnie Yen's hilarious antics in Painted Skin. Jamming together with Sing Wei with the piano and guitar and all our beautiful voices in harmony =) Michael Jackson dessert. Red wine. Lots and lots of HAKKA ham cha which was diarrhea-inducing for the past 2 nights -.-'. Marinated chicken wings. Colourful cupcakes. Auntie Linda brought over expensive durian and dark chocolate cake slices which cost about $9 per piece for daddy's birthday =) which were absolutely lip-smacking! Auntie Fei Tze, Sing Wei and Auntie Joyce's entire family coming by =) Adrian korkor's interrogation by us about his "multi-dating" He said I could drop by his studio in Bangsar and meet up for dinner since I'll be working near his apartment *cool *Going to the wet market with mummy was an experience.Everyone knew mum and would stop by staring at me (since I haven't been seen with mum for ages, they don't know who I am) and say 'Oh is she your daughter? So pretty....' and then mummy would proudly add 'Yeah, and she's a doctor too' -.-' the conversation would continue for a bit more... with me ultimately hiding behind her after the umpteenth time... We went through this with at least 4 store mongers.*oh brother* I wanted to leave as soon as possible.Mummy laughed telling daddy that the usually noisy and loud pork seller was unusually shy and soft-spoken this time -.-' *haiyor*Auntie Fei Tze laughed at this when mummy told her I was rushing to get away... and said 'Of course mummy will be proud'!Everyone who came today had such a fantastic time, and that includes us; the host =) I'm so glad they love coming here. You know what's funny? Our house is the meeting place for all of our different groups of friends. Dad says it's because our house is so open, warm and welcoming to everyone!Anyway, the sisters and I had such a good chat this evening. It's been so long. How I miss sharing all our stories and gossips and laughing as crazily together, unashamed with being kooky and uninhibited ;)
The Lai sisters bond is unbreakable.xoxoxo
